Tom Choske
Email: Tom@tomchoske.com
Short Bio: I have a long history working to improve our community and fight the establishment and am running to be a voice for change on State Central. I work with Detroit Council member Mary Waters and worked on her campaign where we were the only ones in the 13th District to call the genocide in Palestine what it was (running against AIPAC-backed Shri Thanedar). Before that I ran for State Representative myself on a progressive platform and was endorsed by the MI Progressive Caucus. Going back to the 2017 party elections, I worked with Liano and a number of other organizers to try to take out the Democratic establishment (I was a candidate for vice chair in the 13th on a slate). And even before then, I worked with former State Senator and Congressman Hansen Clarke where we were the only office to 1)call for a moratorium on foreclosures before the 2008 financial crisis and 2) in Congress, write the first bill to reform the student loan system in 2011 so as to address the growing crisis. Needless to say, none of this was acceptable to the corporate Democrats. I’m completely aligned with the goals and looking forward to making a difference in the party.
